Retail - The Jigsaw Group
My 20 year journey with the Jigsaw Group was transformative, diverse and challenging. My experiences laid the foundations for my career. I established my values at work, learnt that I was always to put the customer experience first, and built teams who did the same.
I started in Manchester as a sales associate when I was 18 and finished as Head of Retail for Jigsaw USA in San Francisco in 2019. Starting on the shop floor, I know that the customer experience - how a customer feels about a brand - is central to a retailers success. I am passionate about building teams who empathize with customers, are grateful for their visit and are focused on ensuring that they come back; in stores, online, in concessions or with external partners.
I have lead flagship stores as General Manager, including opening the iconic Shop at Bluebird on London’s Kings Road. My Area and District roles have included managing up to 50 stores with a sales turnover over over $50M across the UK. I was also deputy to our Retail Director and the retail voice for special projects; including ‘deliver to store’, One Stock and Jigsaw Menswear.
As International Retail Manager, I was proud to relaunch our Australian stores and concessions business; scale our presence in the Netherlands and lead special projects in Ireland and France.
Most recently, as Head of Retail USA my role was responsible for sales, CX, trading, operations, HR, business development and overall profitability of stores and concessions. I also enjoyed oversight and collaboration with our creative, marketing, online and buying & merchandising teams. I believe in empowering people to take ownership of their passions and responsibilities; and that we are all more effective when we listen to each other, collaborate and remember our common goals.
